Hey! We just wanted to stop by and tell you about one of our friends.
She's a hard working lady with a huge heart. She has a deep love for her family, traveling, animals, dessert, and.....Thrusters? She's a classy woman who knows when to burp. She's a bright little ray of sunshine who cares about people and how they feel. She always introduces herself to the newcomers and cheers on the last person to finish the WOD. If you're having a bad day, chances are she will pick up on that and offer you her hand. She's the type of person who would hold the door for your grandmother, even if it would make her late. She's Hodor.
1. Hey there! Where are you from?
2. What do you do for a living?
I am a junior mortgage loan officer at Victorian Finance and I am also the part-time owner of Muddy Paws of Pittsburgh, LLC, which is a pet sitting and dog walking company.
3. How long have you been doing CrossFit?
A glorious 3 years
4. Tell us about your athletic history…
None, zip. Zero. I was on the dance team in high school (Canonettes!) and ran a few half marathons and spin classes before starting CrossFit. In reality, I am the most unathletic “athletic” person I know.
5. What brought you to CrossFit St. Clair?
My sister invited me to try CrossFit with her at Canonsburg CrossFit (thank goodness she talked me into it!!) We tried a few different boxes after Canonsburg closed down but once Josh and some of the other members swooned us, we fell in love with St. Clair
6. What’s your favorite way to sweat?
Running, burpees, thrusters, chippers, squats
7. Favorite food?
I am a sweets girl for sure and enjoy any dessert. Pasta. Also, the EAT N PARK salad bar!!!
8. Favorite movie?
Almost Famous, Happy Gilmore, Forest Gump, Inglorious Basterds, Taken, Under the Tuscan Sun, Pretty Woman, and Home Alone
9. Favorite book?
The Book of Awesome by Neil Pasricha
10. Favorite music to work out to?
Marilyn Manson (anything kind of angry…)
11. When you aren’t working or working out, where can we find you?
I’m always on the go and never really “sitting” at home much. I try to hang out with my family and nieces and nephews when I have a free night. I enjoy partaking in events in the city. Or, I’m with my boyfriend planning our next getaway together! I spend a lot of time with my infamous boxer, Parker, too.
12. How has CrossFit changed you?
It has definitely taught me to be more willing to try new things regardless of how out of my comfort zone it is. I look back on the day when I was hesitant to try CrossFit and originally said “heck no, no way.” What if I never said yes? CrossFit has made me much happier both mentally and physically. Now, when I’m hesitant about trying something, I use CrossFit as an example of how it opened a whole new window of opportunities that even led to competitions, new friends, a new job …so much!
13. What do you love most about CrossFit St. Clair?
Obviously the PEOPLE. We all come from different walks of life and personalities but come together with the bond of loving to challenge ourselves with these functional movements every day. Once I finish that final rep it is such a sense of accomplishment, that is enhanced even more by being around people you love! I can complain, cry, vent, laugh and celebrate with these people and feel comfortable doing it because they have already seen me at my worst.
14. What 3 words would people use to describe you?
Hard-working, energetic, unconventional
15. Any mantra, favorite quote, or words to live by?
"You have to live spherically - in many directions. Never lose your childish enthusiasm - and things will come your way." -Federico Fellini
"We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us." E. M. Forster
"Some people feel the rain, others just get wet." Bob Marley
