Member Spotlight: Holly Packy

Hey Everyone!! We’re back to celebrate another stellar human who also happens to be a member of our family. She’s that quiet blonde lady who worked herself "back" from back surgery these past two years ,and is now smashing WOD’s and is rumored to be part of an elusive pack of primates that workout at an unGodly hour. If you guessed Holly Packy then you are correct! We are so blessed to have such a genuinely nice person as a member of our family. She works her butt off in the gym, at work, and is also a dedicated wife and mother of a beautiful family. Without further to do’s and what not, here is a little bit about Holly that you may have not already known…

 Where are you from?

Pittsburgh.  Originally greenfield.  Went to Allderdice High School.  Now I live in Mt. Lebanon with my husband, 24 year old son Jordan and 18 year old daughter Brooke.

What do you do for a living?

Anything involving numbers. But really, I just  recently started billing in the Pittsburgh and Philly offices of the law firm of Clark Hill.

How long have you been doing CrossFit?

4 years

Tell us about your athletic history…

I have none.  At  age 38, I started working with a personal trainer  by the name of Joe Maiers and got excited about fitness.  I did kickboxing with him for 3 years and in that time ran my first marathon a few half marathons and many other races. I only started CrossFit because that trainer left and I needed to find something new. He inspired me towards fitness and I am forever grateful.

What brought you to CrossFit St. Clair?

Our gym at Integrated Fitness closed and we needed a new home.  Somehow along the way, it became just that, our new home.

What’s your favorite way to sweat?

Running.  And all things Crossfit

Favorite food?

Peanut butter, peanut butter and more peanut butter.  Oh and filet!

Favorite movie?

On Golden Pond.  I wrote my first high school newspaper review after I saw it. Damn I'm old!

Favorite book?

Beautiful Boy

Favorite music to work out to?

Three Days  Grace, Breaking Benjamin mostly heavy stuff

When you aren’t working or working out, where can we find you?

Taking care of my family.

How has CrossFit changed you?

I've gained so much more confidence in myself and my abilities than I ever thought possible.

What do you love most about CrossFit St. Clair?

The people.  Especially the 5 am people.

What 3 words would people use to describe you?

Kind, outgoing maybe sometimes a bit weird. LOL!

Any mantra, favorite quote, or words to live by?

Find peace and happiness in yourself.  I've realized that so much more over the past few years. If you can't find it there, you won't find it anywhere else.
