Member Spotlight: Pamela Eynon

We are back with another member spotlight to celebrate one of our awesome athletes. It's hard to find a more pleasant and happier person than our very own Pamela Eynon. She shows up at 5:09am in the morning with a travel mug of coffee, a huge smile on her face, and arguably the best hair in the entire gym. She's a hard working Mother of 3 who always has a kind word to share. We thought you might want to get to know her a little better...so here we go.

 

 

1.      Hey there!  Where are you from?

Hi – I grew up in Bethel Park, Pa. and currently live in Peter’s Township.

 

 

2.  What do you do for a living?

I work for a hedge fund administrator located in Upper St. Clair.

 

 

3.  How long have you been doing CrossFit?

Almost 2 years I think.

 

 

4.  Tell us about your athletic history…

Um, none. I ran 5, ½ marathons before I realized I was a terrible runner.  I started doing some traditional weight lifting (thanks to my awesome neighbor and husband for encouraging me to pick up some weights) and eventually started dabbling in some CrossFit type workouts at home.

 

5.  What brought you to CrossFit St. Clair?

I followed my brother in law to CFSC.  I started doing CrossFit in his garage and just pretty much followed him wherever he went after that.

 

6.  What’s your favorite way to sweat?  (Activity/Movement/Sport)

My family has a tradition that for each of our birthdays, the others create a birthday WOD for them.  I love when we all get together -  outside on the driveway, with what feels like a bazillion kids and dogs running around us, yelling at them to stay away from the dropping weights, neighbors driving by probably thinking we are crazy...that’s my favorite!

 

7.  Favorite food?  

Donuts, ice cream, cake, chocolate. Basically anything that is sweet and bad for you.

 

 

8.  Favorite movie?

I don’t really have one, but I enjoy watching anything with a happy ending.

 

 

9.  Favorite music to work out to?

I’m not picky – anything upbeat and fun.

 

 

10.  When you aren’t working or working out, where can we find you?

With my husband and 3 boys. Usually, my evenings and weekends are filled with running my boys around to their different sports, music lessons and social events.

 

11.  How has CrossFit changed you?

CrossFit has made me more confident and more fit (though this is still a work in progress). Stepping out of my comfort zone is really hard for me, but something that I’m trying to do more and more.  I love setting the example for my boys on how to be strong and healthy.

 

 

12.  What do you love most about CrossFit St. Clair?

I love the members and coaches.  Josh is awesome and always has something kind to say to you.  My fellow 5amer’s always keep things interesting and are a super fun and encouraging group of people.

 

13.  What 3 words would people use to describe you?

I didn’t know how to answer this so I asked my friends and they said determined, positive and compassionate….so I’ll go with those.

 

14.  Any mantra, favorite quote, or words to live by?

I always try to be kind to others and always encourage my boys to do the same. I think this quote sums up how I feel perfectly.
