We are back with another Member Spotlight! It's time to get to know a little more about Abigail Zidik. Not only is she a Mother of two, school teacher, and high powered real estate agent, she is also a very versatile athlete.

She is well versed in many fields from gymnastics, to high speed cycling, and CrossFit enthusiast.

1.  Hey there!  Where are you from?

I am originally from Indianapolis, IN, but have lived in PA for 10 years now, 5 of them in Pittsburgh.

2.  What do you do for a living?

I used to teach middle school English, but after moving to Pitt I transitioned into real estate. I also teach nursery school a few mornings a week.

3.  How long have you been doing CrossFit?

I have been doing crossfit on and off since 2013, but the 2 years I have been at St. Clair have been my most consistent.

4.  Tell us about your athletic history…

Um...I took gymnastics when I was very young, but stopped when I was 14. I was 5'2" (my current height) in the 5th grade and was the biggest kid in the gym. At that time I started racing bikes - track and road - and did that until I was about 25. I also swam in high school.

Since I stopped cycling I kind of floundered and just went to the gym and putzed around until discovering crossfit.

5.  What brought you to CrossFit St. Clair?

I met Christie Hodor through work and she convinced me to give it a try.

6.  What’s your favorite way to sweat?

Crossfit for sure. More specifically, handstand walks! DUs and burpees are good too.

7.  Favorite food?

Hot wings and beer.

8.  Favorite movie?

I'm almost too embarrassed to say...You've Got Mail

9.  Favorite book?

The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood

10.  Favorite music to work out to?

The Offspring. I don't know why.

11.  When you aren’t working or working out, where can we find you?

By necessity, chasing my kids around. If I had my choice I'd sit at a quiet bar with some booze and a good book.

12.  How has CrossFit changed you?

I guess it's made me more confident. Certainly more confident about my physical appearance but also more confident in myself as a person.

13.  What do you love most about CrossFit St. Clair?

The welcoming community of people, the great coaches, and the child care!!!

14.  What 3 words would people use to describe you?

This was really difficult and I had to outsource.  My sister said Dedicated, my colleague said No-Nonsense, and a friend said Authentic.
